CIM member institutions and representatives (CIM Board)
The following institutions of the University Hospital of Cologne are members of the CIM. Their representatives together form the CIM Board, which elects the CIM Directorate from its ranks.
Advisor to the CIM
Prof. Dr. Gerd Fätkenheuer supports the CIM and its members as an advisor with his many years of experience and proven competency in the field of infectious diseases. As former head of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University Hospital of Cologne, Prof. Fätkenheuer was a member of the founding board of the CIM and deputy spokesman until April 2024.
External Advisory Board
Advisory body with broad expertise in infectious diseases
The work of the Center for Infectious Diseases is supported by an External Advisory Board with broad expertise in the entire field of infectious diseases medicine. With their competence, the members optimally represent the subject areas represented in the CIM. The Advisory Board consists of recognised experts from clinical, experimental-translational and basic research in the field of infectious diseases.
The Advisory Board advises and supports CIM’s Board and CIM’s Directorate in their decisions. It examines whether the objectives set out in CIM's constitution are being implemented efficiently and makes recommendations on the work of the center.
In accordance to the constitution, the Advisory Board is appointed by CIM’s Board for a period of 3 years - reappointment is possible.
